Nonallergic thinitis: Cold air can lead to a drippy, runny nose called skier's nose. A red nose after being in cold air is likely a normal response to increased blood flow to the area. Cold air can also induce hives with mild swelling in some people. Cold air is not an allergic trigger, but the symptoms appear like allergies and are called non-allergic rhinitis.
