Sciatica?: Sciatica is caused by impingement of the sciatic nerve... Usually the treatment involves several modalities. One is heating and icing at the origination of the pain site. Need both, start with hot, end with cold, do it for twenty minutes twice daily. Another treatment is anti-inflammatories. If not allergic, take 2 aleve (naproxen) twice daily for 7 days. A third addition is muscle relaxers.

Mostly due to the : Decrease in inflammation associated with its starting in the first place. Also, if due to a disc herniation, they have been shown to resorb or shrink or even totally disappear on follow up MRI at 6 months 66% of the time. The resolution of the inflammatory component is usually the key to ending symptoms. The disc herniation can still be present and the pain can be resolved.

Back Pain Options: This back pain as you suggested is the result of an irritated nerve or facet joints or other injury typically in the lumbar spine (low back) which are caused by herniated disks, spinal stenosis or degenerative disc disease, etc requiring further evaluation by a spine specialist and may be candidate for facet injections/radiofrequency ablation and epidural steroid injection.
