Sunitinib Dosing: Sunitinib is usually given for 4 weeks, then 2 weeks off, and the response (reduction in tumor burden) assessed. Often, the dose is reduced if side effects supervene. There is no "standard" protocol and only your oncologist and the rest of your treatment team can recommend the best protocol for you.

Depends: Sutent (sunitinib) can be continued for as long as it is working and causing tolerable side effects. Dose adjustments allow patients to continue the drug safely as long as there is control of the cancer.
