Occasionally: 1. Check blood tests- if underactive by lab tests, need thyroid hormone therapy 2. But if on therapy for hypothyroidism and lab normal, or on thyroid medicine and lab normal, must look for other causes see dermatologist.

Dandruff: Dandruff is usually caused by seborrheic dermatitis. Medicated shampoos and lotions can help. See a derm to make sure isn't a fungal infection.
