Dry Socket?: You may be experiencing a "dry socket". This is a situation where the blood clot does not stay as usual. Healing is delayed and it is very painful. The pain usually starts 3-4 days after the extraction. Go back to the dentist and if it is a dry socket there is a packing he can put in to alleviate the pain till healing occurs.

Dry socket: If you recently had a tooth extracted and are having pain, you may have a dry socket. Call your dentist and have them evaluate the area. If it is a dry socket then medication will be packed in the area and will relieve the discomfort.
