Call provider: You really need to call the insurance company for clarification. A lot of insurances view orthognathic surgery as elective and refuse to cover it regardless. However, others do. For specifics on any plan, the only way to be sure is to talk to an insurance representative about what the plan covers.

Yes: The need for orthognathic surgery is hereditary, so it is pre-existing, unless you were in a severe accident which traumatized your face. If you can be seen at a dental school in your area or a local hospital with and oral suregery residency, you may be treated at a reduced fee.
