Most have same med: Generally, the otc sleep meds tend to include Diphenhydramine as their active agent ( otherwise known as benedryl) grogginess is its working side effect in most. There seems to be little benefit of any particular one over another. Some herbal preparations use meletonin with variable sucess. You might consider some simple cardio exercise (half hour) & a relaxing tub soak as a healthier alternative.

Limited benefit: The problem with otc meds is that most contain benadryl (diphenhydramine)... You quickly develop tolerance to its sleep effects. Melatonin should be used at the right time for it be effective.
