Depends: It depends on how severe and longstanding this problem has been, and how comprehensive treatment has been in addressing it. Achilles bursitis often require antiinflammatories, stretching exercises, shoe modifications or changes, physical therapy, etc. It is not unusual for this to take weeks or months to fully resolve.

Dr. Newman gave: An excellent answer. The only thing i can think of to add is sometimes, if the inflammation has gone on long enough, the body tends to calcify the bursal sac, which makes it very, very difficult to treat and takes a lot longer. This can be seen on a plain x-ray. Good luck and feel better.
