Laceration: When did you cut it? Is it deep enough for stitches (which would speed healing)? Have u had a tetanus booster within 10 years? Wash with hot soapy water; pat dry; apply antibiotic ointment, non-stick pad, & dressing over it all. Change dressing daily. If there is increasing redness/heat/pain/pus or red streaks, see pcp for treatment of infection.

See md: Better check with doctor right away to see if infected. Keep it covered and clean until you get there probably should cover it with gauze to absorb the drainage.

Local hygiene: Wash it with soap and water. Dry it. Apply antibiotic ointment to the wound. Cover it with a dressing. If you a compression sock this will help the drainage. Check your tetanus status. Go see your doctor.
