Face swelling: It sounds like something is causing excess fluid in the tissues of the face and neck, which moves with gravity to the lowest side when you lay down and still. Causes may include allergic reactions, infections of the teeth or sinuses, kidney disease, blockages to the veins in the neck, etc. If this finding persists more than a day or two, get it checked out by a physician.
