Swelling: Lots of potential things, but not enough information here and no patient to examine. Speculating from the cloud is nonproductive. If doctor stumped, he can obtain other opinions from drs. Who can see and examine the patient.

Allergies?: Anxiety can cause some of these symptoms. But if there is true swelling in the face and neck, you many have allergies or intolerace. Also get checked for inflammation, lupus, thyroid, vitamin deficiencies.
