Sore throat: A sore throat without associated nasal congestion could be viral or bacterial. It's helpful to know if you have associated fever, abdominal pain, headache, or rash. You may benefit from a throat swab to screen for strep if the pain persists. Other causes for a sore throat could include postnasal drip and irritation from infection, allergies, or other causes for inflammation.
