A member asked:

Would a contrast ct scan detect cyst or tumors in ovaries ?

Ovarian cyst: A ct of abdomen and pelvis would see a cyst/tumor/growth/mass on ovaries over 1 cm in size. Transvaginal ultrasound is better for defining the characteristics of the ovarian cyst/tumor/growth/mass.

Yes, but: In general an ultrasound does a better job inspecting the ovaries. An ultrasound can also describe the appearance of a growth on an ovary better, giving your doctor a better idea of what kind of growth it is.
