Surgery: It's a surgery where a parathyroid adenoma or enlarged parathyroid gland is removed in cases of hyperparathyroidism. In some patients there may be more than one adenoma that has to be removed. There is now the option of a minimally invasive parathyroidectomy that certain surgeons like myself routinely perform as an outpatient with excellent results.
