What is the definition or description of: pancreas biopsy?

See answer detail.: A pancreas biopsy is an invasive procedure that is used to obtain a sample of pancreatic tissue for diagnostic purposes. The biopsy may be done through the skin utilizing a needle to obtain a small sample, usually under radiographic guidance, or the biopsy may be 'open', in which case the abdomen is opened to obtain the tissue. An 'open' biopsy is indicated when a larger tissue sample is needed.
