Diagnostic changes: An elimination diet is used to identify sources of symptoms caused by food. Food allergies can be hard to track down and cover a wide spectrum of symptoms. An elmination diet brings a patient down to a very basic set of foods that are known to have low issues with allergies. If the symptoms resolve then blocks of similar foods are added back until symptoms recur. Now we know where to look.
