Simvastatin+Niaspan: Simcor (simvastatin and niacin) is a combination medication containing simvastatin, a statin drug that inhibits cholesterol synthesis, and niaspan, an extended release Niacin product that works in several ways to reduce triglyceride (tg), LDL (particle number more than cholesterol), and raise HDL (cholesterol more than particle number). Together these agents lower tg and ldl, while raising hdl.
