Pleurisy: Sounds like it could be pleurisy. If you don't have a rash on your skin that looks like blisters (which would be shingles), this is likely an inflammation of the lining of your lungs. Ibuprofen (if ok with your system) is the treatment of choice. Other possibilities are a pulled ribcage muscle - if that's the case, Ibuprofen is still the treatment.

Intercostal neuralgi: Pain likely related to inflammation or irritation of nerves which travel under ribs. Need to be sure that it is not related to inflammation or infection of the lungs. Check for fever and also if there is any associated shortness of breath or cough that is productive of sputum which may be yellow or green. For nerve inflammation then 7 to 10 days of an anti-inflammatory would help (motrin 600mg).
