The pain one is referring to, seems to be coming from the lining of the Lungs. Called Pleurodynia or Pleurisy depending. One says nothing about Cough. It is usually caused by Viral Infections though Bacterial infections can also be implicated. One needs Antiviral medication or Antibiotics, in addition to other supportive treatment to get well soon. A visit to the PCP is clearly indicated soonest.

Upper respiratory inflammation can cause sharp pain on inspiration, and is common with viral diseases involving the lung coverings, called pleuritic pain. COVID-19 can also cause a respiratory component, so obtain a COVID-19 PCR test and quarantine for at least 10 days, along with any close contacts.

I agree that you see your PCP as soon as possible. You may have a structural dysfunction that can be corrected. Monitor your temperature, keep yourself hydrated, rest, and eat a healthy diet.
