I moved a patient in bed and my shoulder "popped" , now both shoulders and the back of my neck are sore/tense. how long do i give it before going in?

See below: If you just injured your shoulder, the inflammatory process usually maximizes out between 48-72 hours after the injury then starts to improve and heal as long as proper care is taken. Treat with riice - rest, ice, ibuprofen, compression (ace wrap, etc.) and elevation. For the shoulder, ice, Ibuprofen and rest are key and after the pain is decreased massage and pt might be beneficial.

Not clear: If you are concerned, get it checked right away. It can be helpful to report things immediately to your supervisor for insurance purposes. Physical therapy often helps a great deal. But it is also important to have confidence in your body's ability to heal itself! lots of small problems will take care of themselves.
