A member asked:

What can be done to help my husband now that we have just been alerted that he has a spine and bone density of a 140 year old man / he is 67?

Thats not the way : Bone density is not reported as an age.You have to have it described by the doctor who ordered the test and what the significant of the study is and what are the risks associated with it.And what preventive measures can be taken and treatment recommended let the doctor tell him all that.

Get treated: People with osteoporosis have lots of treatment options available, from pharmaceuticals to calcium & vitamin d to strengthening exercises to balance exercises (e.g. Tai chi). One recent study found that elderly people after cataract surgery fell less and suffered fewer broken bones from osteoporosis. http://j.mp/slzht8.
