Soon, but...: Penicillins can take 1-2 days to really kick in and start to reduce infection and swelling. You should see improvement soon. If you are not getting better, you should go back to the dentist who gave you the prescription. They may need to switch you to a different medication.

Consider:: Some tooth infections will never settle down without actually removing the tooth. Coordinate treatment with your dentist to "close the loop" and resolve the problem completely.
