I had a miscarriage 2 1/2 weeks ago, when is it safe to have sex again?

Any time: It is generally recommended you not get pregnant for three months after; there is no firm basis for that. May want to get over it emotionally before you get pregnant again; if it recurs and was planned can be harder without taking adequate time. Your chances, though, are no greater for miscarriage next pregnancy, about 15%, goes to 2% once baby has heart tones on ultrasound.

When you are ready: So sorry to hear. If you had a miscarriage in the 1st trimester and had no surgical procedures done, like a d&c, then you can have sex again whenever you are ready.

Now: It's safe now, but you should definitely use contraception.
