Fat Necrosis: Specifically, fat necrosis is death of fat cells, adipocytes. It does not in and of itself mean there is an infection. This can occur depending on your body's response to say a contusion as in the female breast where this is a known risk. Although, I have not heard of this as specific complication of tka, it is a very invasive operation. I recommend speaking with your surgeon for guidance.
