Fairly quickly: Most knee replacement patients start physical therapy within a couple of days after sugery. You should be fully recovered by 2-3 months post-op.

6 weeks: All depend of the surgeon protocol and what kind of total knee was done.In general you should be able to start walkink with a walker 2d day after surgery with partial wb.You could be walking on your own probably after 4 to 6 weeks.

Yes much better: Total knee replacement is made to reduce pain and improve function. Patients walk much better after recovering from a total knee than they did before total knee surgery. Most walk close to normal or normal once they have fully recovered.
