Swelling after TKA: The knee can stay swollen for a number of months after surgery. Often, even after it is fully healed, there is some residual swelling so that it never completely looks like a normal knee.

Monitor: If swelling is worse or has pain associated with it you should get checked out immediately for a blood clot as it can be life threatening.
