6 years?: Surely you've had this evaluated by now, so i presume the diagnosis has eluded everyone. The most common cause of this scenario is silent gerd, but this is easily improved with elevation of the head of the bed, not eating late, and medication like prilosec. If that has afforded no improvement and an egd is normal, then it's possibly an uncommon neuromuscular disorder. See the dr for re-evaluation.
