Sounds like a virus: The illness sounds viral and in particular a GI (Stomach) virus (called ECHO virus) and this is not spread by droplets rather by direct contact with surfaces etc Handwashing is the best prevention. So its unlikely you will get sick since the virus is not shed until the persn is actually sick. I hope this helps Good luck
