Doctor can check: The central area from the bottom of the ribs to the belly button is called the epigastric area. A person with severe pain should be evaluated by his primary care doctor or at the E.R. Possible causes include pancreatitis, stomach ulcer, gall stones, twisted bowel, damage to big blood vessels in the abdomen, etc., etc...

Many things: Your symptoms could be multiple problems. You should seek medical attention. The possibilities include but are not limited to gastritis, gallbladder problems, pancreatitis, appendicitis, ect.
