Normal: Women who have not had sex yet, often have some extra skin around the opening of the vagina called the hymen. This skin will stretch and sometimes tear and bleed when she first has sex. This is normal. Also, women who are very physically active may have already stretched the hymen so it may not bleed with first intercourse.
