Hard to say.: Narcotic are notorious for causing this. They "paralyze" the muscles in the gut that cause food to move through the bowel. Some have less or more problems that others. A single dose can cause it. One may acclimatize to the medication over time if taking chronically. Senoside laxatives help with this. Discuss with your pcp or prescribing doctor. Usually gone in 24 hours after stopping meds.
