Possible reflux: Hoarseness can be caused by reflux in babies as well as other things. You may want to ask your baby's pediatrician if the baby could have reflux. If so, vocal cord nodules may result, causing hoarseness.

You may need to see: An ENT doctor, but visualizing the vocal cords requires sedation or anaesthesia. It would be worthwhile if your baby has any trouble breathing or feeding or appears to be in pain. I agree with pursuing an evaluation for reflux before an invasive procedure.
