My 9 month old woke up with raspy/hoarse voice. she has no cough & no other symptoms. could it be croup? she didnt cry hard so it cant be because of crying?

Maybe/not: The viruses that cause croup cause vocal cord swelling/laryngitis in older kids & adults. Croup is more a label for the pattern of the cough triggered in more worrisome cases, The virus can be the same but I would not call it croup unless & until that harsh cough pattern emerged. It may do so in the next day or so.
