Skin tests: A high ige does not necessarily mean that you have an allergy. False positive results may occur meaning that allergy may not exist. To find the source of an allergy, if one exists, go to an allergist for skin tests which are better than blood tests to determine the cause of an allergy.

IgE: Ige per se can not cause inflammations. If no symptoms don't worry about it. It is hereditary and sometimes affiliated with allergic symptoms but sometimes rises with parasites or a few other disorders.

Skin tests: Skin tests can reveal what you are allergic to. If your ige is elevated you have a higher chance of developing allergies. If the ige is extremely elevated then other issues may be going on so the answer really depends on how high the ige level is.
