TH1 OR TH 2: T cells are one immune system cell type. T cells make and release chemicals that talk to other immune cells. Th1 cells secrete one set of these and th2 cells secrete a different set. Th1 cells are thought to be associated w/autoimmune diseases; th2 with allergic diseases. At this point there are no commercial tests to determine this;research lab may test but wont help your DX or rx at this point.

Allergist: An allergist can determine if you are th1 or th2 responsive. Such terminology essentially means whether you have an allergy tendency. Skin tests can determine if you have an allergic tendency. Tests to sort cells based on th response are not commercially available but are run in labs doing research.
