Thru the vagina: A vaginal birth is one in which the baby passes thru the cervical opening into the vagina and out the vaginal opening. Sometimes naturally, or sometimes with assistance with forceps or vacuum extraction to assist moving the baby's head thru a vaginal area that may be narrow.
