It can : Over activity of these muscles can sometimes cause a ringing sensation, called tinnitus. It is not unusual for the patient with tmj/cmd to complain of ringing in their ears, or vertigo. Yes, it can.: Tempromandibular joint dysfunction, commonly referred to as "tmj" is a multi-faceted syndrome which can exhibit many different signs and symptoms. Tinnitus, or ringing in the ears, is one such symptom. The tempromandibular joint, more commonly called the "jaw joint" is situated just in front of the ear canal. Inflammation in the ear canal can spread to the ear.

Yes: Many times this can be corrected through a combination of diet and chiropractic adjusatment...You should also have your dentist check your occlusion ( the way your teeth come together) and your tmj.

Yup: Over activity of these muscles of mastication can sometimes cause a ringing sensation, called tinnitus. It can be mistaken for vertigo. Because the same nerve (the trigeminal) feeds all of the muscles of mastication as well as these two important ear muscles.

Yes: Tinnitus may have many causes and is very difficult to nail down its main trigger. I would keep a diary of eating, activities, intensity and duration of the ringing, whether it is more noticeable upright or lying down. Tmj/tmd can be a cause and should be explored.

Yes: Yes, a common TMJ symptom. May of course also be the ear. If really bothersome, see an ENT doc.
