Thoughts of dying: Suicidal ideations are thoughts of hopelessness that creep in to one thinking. They range from passive thoughts like 'i am better off dead than alive' to actively 'planning to die'. Suicidal ideations are commonly seen in major depression, depressed phase of bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. They are also seen in borderline personality disorder. Need to be evaluated and underlying cause treated.
