No: No. Botox stops contraction of muscles. It is injected directly into the belly of the muscle that is being paralyzed. In doing so, it reduces the wrinkling of the skin overlying the muscle as it contracts. It does not prevent any skin cancers, rashes or eczema flares.

No.: Botox only works on contracting muscles, it doesn't have any other effects on skin.

No: No. However repeated use of Botox to the same muscle will lead to atrophy of the muscle (muscle becomes thin from disuse). Generally this is not a concern for patients and may provide benefit in cosmetic procedures.

Nope: But, 1 of the best reasons to consider using Botox is to protect your skin from the wear and tear of chronic repetitive muscle contractions. Lines break down in the skin at the point where your skin folds & pleats due to muscle contraction. Clinically I have seen patients literally "age in reverse" simply by using botox, b/c the skin has a chance to heal and repair when not under repeated stress.

No: Botox helps to prevent deepening or worsening of certain lines or wrinkles that are caused by facial expression or frowning. It also helps with excessive sweating and migraine headaches. Does not prevent skin diseases however.

Botox helps wrinkles: Botox will help decrease wrinkles where injected but will not prevent other skin diseases. Botox/xeomin/dysport are all used for lines in motion on the forehead, crows feet, between the brows as well as on the lower face where the puppet lines are and sometimes on the chin. Botox over time has shown to decrease wrinkles but it will not prevent other skin conditions.

No: Botox is only useful to reduce facial wrinkles caused by muscle movement. Regular treatments may reduce the development of crowfoot and frown lines but will not prevent other skin diseases.
