Treatment: Local heat to reduce spasm. Topical sports cream or capsaicin cream will help relieve pain. Advil or Aleve or tylenol (acetaminophen) as per label on bottle. If not better in 2 weeks, see doctor for prescription anti inflammatory meds or referral to physical therapy. Last resort: local injection into costochondral joints (where ribs attach to sternum).
