ITP: I assume from your concerns your child has multiple petechial areas. Any reasonable physician with your family history can do a simple blood test to establish diagnosis. Itp is potentially a life threatening disease. Please do not delay getting your child evaluated.

Do check it out: If the pattern of bruises is typical for an active child, i don't think there'd be a problem. See your pediatrician, who knows you from "well-child checks" as well as acute minor illness visits. If the pattern of bruising looks non-accidental, (s)he is a mandated reporter. If no one has harmed him/her, cps's interviewing you & your child will confirm that, but you need to know if anyone has.
