Good question: What treatments have you had? The medical treatments have typically included steroids, other immunosuppressive medications, rituximab. These medications do not always work, and sometimes they only work temporarily. The main surgical treatment is splenectomy. This does not always work either. The goal is to keep you platelets high enough so that you are not having frequent bleeding. Good luck.
