A member asked:

How long do you usually take deplin? i am wanting to know b/c it's 66 bucks for generic.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A month or two: In theory low levels of folate (folic acid) could cause neurotransmitter deficiencies, which could be corrected by l-methylfolate (folic acid) supplementation. Deplin is a brand name for a that metabolite. Studies to date are not convincing it works and we don't know how to predict who should take it. After a month or two, i'd talk to your doc about something else.
