Deplin: Deplin is l-methylfolate, which is the form of Folic Acid that crosses the blood-brain-barrier, where it is a cofactor in the formation of serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine. There is literature to support that individuals with mood disorders are more likely to be deficient in the enzyme that methylates Folic Acid and so may be deficient in this vitamin. It is used to augment antidepressants.
