Depression: Enjoying our food activates the pleasure-sensing portions of our brains. Also, good nutrition plays a prominent role in our mental health. A more specific example of the relationship between eating and mental health involves depression. In typical depression, folks will start eating less; in atypical depression, folks will tend to overeat and snack often.

Wish we knew.: Though we don't know why, mental health problems seem to cause a deterioration in eating habits --- overeating, not eating, eating junk foods all the time.
