What happens if you have tuberculosis?

Its depends: Two types of tuberculosis (TB) exist. Each requires a specialist. Active TB often leads to fevers, cough, weight loss, weakness & night sweats. This type of TB is serious, highly contagious & requires several antibiotics to be taken for months. Fortunately active TB is a rare infection in the USA. Latent TB is more common, causes no symptoms, but it still requires an antibiotic for 6 to 9 months.
