It varies: There is no magic number of carbohydrates per day needed to lose weight. Instead focus on eating small frequent meals with a mixture of nutrients at each meal. Your carb choices should be healthy carbs--whole grains especially-- and as a general rule should make up about one quarter to one third of your plate.
