Fat Burning: Any exercise that requires you to use your muscles and get up your heart rate helps with fat burning. This includes weight lifting, running, any aerobic exercise, stair master, treadmill, etc. Just remember to eat proteins to build muscle and avoid a lot of starches which lead to fat.

Cardio Mix: Agreed - if you have adipose tissue that you'd like to lose, then consider an increase in cardio and a balanced diet. However, do not always do the same exercise or you will increase your risks for stress injuries. Mix things up with running, biking, swimming, or circuit training. Ultimately you need to burn more than you consume.
