Not sure: "tonsil cyst" isn't a medical term, so it is hard to know exactly what you are talking about. Tonsil stones or "tonsilliths" are collections of food and infection which are whitish and are common. They cause bad breath, and sometimes reflect chronic tonsillitis.

Tonsil cyst: They just seem to occur. They are mucous-filled cysts.
