See your doctor: The most common cause would be that you are getting too much medication. Rarely, a patient with hypothyroidism will convert to graves' disease or autoimmune hyperthyroidism. This will require medication radioactive iodine treatment or surgery.

Thyroiditis: There are different ways this can happen. Get clarity on the cause for the switch. Has your l-thyroxine pill been changed by pharmacy supplier, added other meds, had any other hormonal changes or treatments. Discuss with your. Md. Thyroiditis can suddenly flare up and switch you from hypo to hyper (rare). Metabolic changes can affect thyroxine clearance.
